Abstract
Survey data are important for supporting the definition and verification of legal spaces and boundaries in major infrastructure projects. However, these data are fragmentedly represented in multiple 2D survey plans and documents, limiting their integration with legal and physical information in a common 3D environment. This study develops a BIM-based data model for representing survey data using IFC 4.3 for major infrastructure projects. Survey data from different major infrastructure projects in Victoria, Australia, were analysed using the concepts defined in the Land Administration Domain Model (LADM) Edition II. Four types of survey data requirements were identified, including survey poin..
